I’m not sure who Anthropologie’s demographic is, but I wish I was included.
How great is this dress?

Papel Picados for Joel and Karen
Our good friend Joel got married this last weekend to a lovely girl named Karen. Like myself, Karen is part Mexican and decided to incorporate her heritage into their wedding. Joel had requested that i make them something as a wedding a gift, i think he had a painting in mind, but when i received their invitation with a dia de los muertos theme, i knew i wanted to make them custom papel picados.

And so i did! here are some process shots.

Green Tea Kombucha…yum. love the saying on the tea bag, seems appropriate

And here is a shot from the ceremony in Santa Cruz

I didnt take any photos of the papel picados hanging because the reception was rather dark. But i was pleased to see them hanging, and i even saw a few folks take some as souvenirs with whispers of “i heard someone cut these by hand?!”
HUZAH! Cheers and congratulations to a great couple. Here’s to many happy years!
