Silhouette obsessed?

Maybe its because I just did silhouette paintings of John and I for the wedding, but this photo really spoke to me.

sure it might be overkill, and it would be nice to mix in some other little gems but I like the arrangement and the nostalgic charm.

If only my bathroom remodel had resulted in this

My friend Dom stumbled across this while doing some research at work the other day. I tried to save the name of the blog so i could credit them, but it didn’t work out, sorry blog world.

I love a claw foot tub, they are amazing. My future mother-in-law has an outdoor one at the family beach house in Carpinteria (place of our future wedding). and she tried to build like a wood box around it and cover the amazing claw foot part!
Thankfully, through hounding and email bombardments of millions of photos of amazing clawfoot tubs she has stopped operations on “the box” and is now leaving the amazing claw feet. Woo-hoo! Cant wait to take an outdoor bubble bath.
Maybe she’ll paint the underside a cool color.
How cool is the striped one?

Here are a few with dark underbellies, which feel gothic and luxurious.bb01031209lynda3

maybe some day when i own property, and don’t live in a dated apartment…

Ballet elated

So last Thursday in Ballet we learned all new stuff.
Like tons of new stuff. And then Tuesday I missed class cuz work was crazy.
So I thought for sure, today, was not gonna be my day.
I thought I would be behind and confused and have the wrong foot forward.
But, no. Get this: my strictest teacher passed by me, and he always has a correction and this time, he just raised an eyebrow and said “looking good today!”
Yay! I’m so pumped. Cloud nine. Ballerina status. ha. So as a dedication to my elation, here are a few amazing ballet photos for you.

favoriteI love this one. All you have to see is the hand to know that they are dancing. So simple and so amazing.

How amazing is this necklace. Although, i must admit, it’s totally one of those things you buy cuz its amazing and then you never seem to wear it or know what to wear it with. But man, I’m loving it. I think maybe if I made one instead of paying $98 (!) I wouldn’t feel as bad when i didn’t know what to wear it with. I think i saw a DIY online somewhere where a girl bought chain necklaces at target and a pearl necklace and then fastened them with a gray silk ribbon. I think it would look nice with a plain white V-neck…and a boyfriend jean/ballet flat?

let's take a pretend vacation

This week has been pretty crazy. And it’s only Wednesday. Deadlines at work, an unwanted bathroom remodel, and John’s fighting a cold…(I might be too). It all has me dreaming of a relaxing get away. This place looks pretty charming. Its a teeny tiny beach shack in the Isle of Wight, UK.

Yesterday's morning adventure

Yesterday morning we went down to the fairy building bright and early. We got some fresh brewed blue bottle coffee and then ordered some fancy scrambled eggs over sourdough toast with tomatoes from Il Cane Rosso (right next door) and snagged a table outside. It was pretty gorgeous out. DSCN3253

the view, he’s right, its pretty impressive

Then we made the dizzying rounds of the farmers market. I must say, while it was fun, it’s definitely overwhelming. I don’t care too much for crowds and slow movers..haha. But how could you not get excited about this! These Dahlias are incredible!

They are so gorgeous and full. And only $5 a bunch! sold.

We also purchased some spendy but delicious peaches, some tomatoes, basil, local honey and delicious cheeses. We went to cowgirl creamery and tried some new cheese they haven’t even named yet. It was yummy and the service was really friendly so we bought a wedge. We took our tomatoes, cheese and basil and mixed it with a loaf of bread at home and had a European lunch and topped it off with peaches for desert.

It was a nice saturday.

Lovely Ladies

Friday night my girlfriend Jessica hosted a ladies crafting night. It was a total blast! I have to brag here, I have a pretty incredible group of girlfriends. They are all so amazing.  We made dinner, Naoma (our hairdresser) gave everyone’s bangs a trim, we did some crafting, lots of giggling, we walked to get ice cream, and then we played telephone pictionary, which brought more giggles.  Everyone worked on different crafting projects. Jessica made 1″ buttons for her wedding, with a little logo I designed for her and Ross ( I wont share it just yet, in case she wants to keep it a surprise). Naoma embroidered a tote bag, her embroidery skills are impressive, it looks machine done. Amanda and Chelsea made friendship bracelets. ;c)   Lila knitted and others just helped. Here is what I made (sorry poopy camera phone picture)

This is the logo for our wedding. I bought an embroidery hoop and gingham fabric and painted it on.  I’m thinking about making two smaller ones that accompany this one with our profile silhouettes. I also made some 1″ buttons with our logo ( I made more than just the 8 in the photo)

Anyhow, it was a realllllly fun night and I am so grateful for all of my amazing, silly, fun, talented, loving, beautiful friends!
