Say What?! thats crazy!

I dont speak French, but im pretty sure these window displays are made out of paper, and they are toats-tally crazy! So amazing. I also love how each window is primarily one color so the color blocks glow from the building. gorgeous.

Mike Krol-favorite albums redesigned

Some guy named Mike Krol made a fun project for himself, redesigning his favorite album covers when he didnt like the originals.

“Two of Mike Krol’s favorite album covers of all time are The Germs (GI) and The Adolescents (self-titled). Why couldn’t all punk albums look like that? Mike Krol decided to take some of his favorite albums to listen to (but not look at) and redesign them. Although the idea is not very original or unique, Mike Krol doesn’t care and needs a way to kill time. Keep checking back, as Mike Krol plans to keep adding more album covers whenever he gets bored.”

I might also like it cuz we share a taste in music. I really thought the Descendents one was cute.

Levi’s Go Forth

Here is some pretty rad collateral from Levis when they launched their Go Forth Campaign.

“Legend has it that Grayson Ozias IV was a friend of Levi Strauss’ nephew Nathan and explored America in the 1890s. In 1896 he disappeared into the American wilderness, after hiding his fortune in the hope of spurring others to go forth and seek adventure. Levi’s archivists were able to recover wax recordings Grayson made, detailing his travels and hinting at the final hiding place of his fortune.”

Based on this legend, Levi’s sent out these promo packages to get people involved in a complex scavenger hunt to win Grayson Ozias’ money. Although, the story is good, I honestly couldn’t really care less, I’m really just way into the collateral. I love the handwritten envelope, the old photo tied up with twine, the screen printed handkerchief, it’s all really cool.

Birthday badassedness

Last night, i bought myself an early birthday present.  Henry Rollins will be performing on a talking tour and he will be in SF on June 8th, two days after my birthday. I have always wanted to see him speak, usually the tickets are absurdly priced or I find out too late. So this time, I didnt sleep on it, I immediately purchased two tickets (one for myself and one for my sweetie) to sit in the nose bleeds and laugh till we cry. I am very much looking forward to it. Who says you cant buy yourself a birthday present. If you want something, why wait, get it. If you havent seen or heard Henry speak, you should look into it, many of his tours are available on dvd and i find them to be very entertaining, although they may not be for everyone.  I also recommend his books.

“The average is the borderline that keeps mere men in their place. Those who step over the line are heroes by the very act. Go.” -Henry Rollins

Todays look. Sorta Spring.

Not quite warm enough for all that leg, had to pair it with a long sleeve and a boot, but feeling sorta spring.

H&M tunic.
American Apparel interlock mini skirt.
Steve Madden boots (i’ve worn these out! LOVE them!).
My grandmothers sterling silver and turquoise bracelets (handmade by family).
Turquoise inspired forever21 earrings.

Look I Love

Tulle tutu skirts.

When I first started seeing these in stores, i thought “oooo…i want one!” but then i thought…ill never wear it. But months later i still think they are adorable. I recently picked one up at H&M (satiating my desire for spring shopping, without breaking the bank) Mine is charcoal gray, which i really love. I like how both of these looks are paired with the spring trends of nautical stripes and chambray.

UPDATE: had to add this image from jcew crewcuts. thats right, im taking style notes from children.

paired with gingham? yes please.

lets be honest though, what kids do you know that dress like this? I mean i would wear this too

and this!

simple chalk sketch

Cute idea to think about incorporating into the wedding. drawing one simple thing in chalk somewhere on concrete. This could be a cool idea for the sidewalk in front of the house, maybe right before the white picket fence gate, we could draw our wreath.

Dom + Bobby

Saturday my friend and coworker Dominique got married. John and I met up with her, and her now husband, Bobby and shot some quick footage before their ceremony, so we could make them a little keepsake.

they look adorable. I especially love the shot at 1:19 of Dom laughing. It was a lot of fun, and we were excited to be involved in their day. Congratulations guys!! xo
