Honeymoon blues

Ugh. We are totally frustrated with our Honeymoon planning. To begin with, we don’t have much to spend. For some reason we didn’t include this in our budget, so I guess it’s coming from gift money and savings… Secondly, apparently our idea of a honeymoon and our honeymoon month of October conflict. Our dream is to go somewhere relaxing and warm, where we can lay on the beach and live like kings (somewhere where the American dollar goes far). We originally had much grander plans (Thailand, Bali), but recently we were considering something cheaper like Mexico. We didn’t think we were really interested in Mexico, only because we have been there and we wanted to do something new. Unfortunately, after deciding that Mexico might be something to reconsider, we realized that October is still the rainy season there. And other warmer destinations seem to cost nearly a thousand dollars each just to get there! We really love the idea of getting swept up in the celebration and leaving a day or two after the wedding….Does anyone have any advice or recommendations?! HELP!? I’m frazzled.

Impatience…

Hedi Slimane

I’m soooo eager to launch our new project its starting to drive me crazy! This is a lesson in patience. There is one more thing I want to complete before launch….geez. Let’s do this already!

Todays look: denim vest copycat

You may remember the look I loved last month of what I thought was a denim jacket under a blazer, until many of you pointed out that it was likely a vest.
Well today I attempted to loosely re-create it. I recently got this denim top at a thrift store for bargain price of a mere $2, cut the sleeves off and -bam- new spring clothing item. Denim and chambray are big this spring and I am really liking it.
When John got home I was sans blazer and he said “did you wear that like that all day?” and I responded “…um, yes. why?” to which he said, “Wow. That’s bold. You’re a rocker.” It is a bit of a rocker look, but that’s how I roll. get it? rock? roll? rock n’ roll? o…..k.

Here’s another denim vest spring look I am hoping to try.

Lovely Sunday

Richard Avedon 1967

Well, I dont know about you, but I had a lovely Sunday. John woke up at eight because he had a footie game at nine. Usually I attend his games, but today I skipped it. I lay in bed for another hour watching HGTV and TLC, before getting out of bed to make some tea and have some cereal, which I took to my reading chair in the window. Well, naturally, while in my reading chair…I read. I am currently reading “Sleeping With Your Business Partner” which should give you a small sneak peek into what our recent project is. Then I worked on said secret project for a bit, blogged my heart out (reading other peoples blogs) before finally getting up and showered and ready for the day. At which point we headed to several barbecues. Yes that’s right, multiple barbecues. My allergies were surprisingly under control for a bit, but shortly into the second barbecue, I began to go crazy, so we cut it short. We returned to the house, made dinner, watched Mad Men, I did more blogging (surprise!) and John did some gaming (surprise again).
