Yay, I’m so excited, my sister-in-law is getting married this weekend! I can’t wait to see her walk down the aisle as beautiful as can be and stand beside her as she marries her best friend. Here’s hoping i can hold it together and not cry, although i doubt it…we all know I’m a sucker.
Looking forward to a weekend of family, fun, sun and lots of love and laughter.
Hope you all have a lovely weekend as well.
PS i designed the invite system (sneak peak above) and i also made the huppah.
Hopefully i will get some photos to share with you later.
Also, although John and I will be in the wedding party we will be sure to film some of the action and while it wont be a full production, we will of course make them a film of some sort and we will share that with you later as well.

How fricken cute are they?! Engagement photos by the talented Marianne Wilson.

Amy Winhouse, you will be missed.
I heard the news this morning that Amy Winhouse was found dead in her London flat and I’m really deeply sad to hear it. While her death is still currently being categorized as “unexplained”, there is no question that Amy struggled for many years with addiction. Her battles with addiction aren’t really what i want to talk about today, while i would like to acknowledge that it saddens me that she was unable to conquers those addictions, i would rather take a minute to remember her for her talent. She was an insanely amazing musician. I am grateful for the music that she brought us and I will miss her greatly. I had always hoped she would pull through.
Here are a few pictures of Amy in her healthier days, as i would like to remember her. So beautiful.

Look I Love
Have you guys seen the site Sincerely, Jules? I cant believe I hadn’t seen it until today (thanks Dom)! She shares so many cute looks that I am especially inspired by lately as I’m still learning how to dress for this hot weather.
Skinny jeans, boots, layers, scarves and pea-coats, I can do. Flowy tops, sandals, shorts and skirts, I’m still finding my groove. Here’s a few looks of hers that I’m loving right now, but be sure to check out her site for even more.
PS I love her hair, remember when I said I wanted to go lighter on the ends?! This is a much better example of what I had in mind.

LOVE this first one!

okay to be fair I could have easily worn this last one in SF, but I still dig it.
Hope you are all having a fashionable and fun friday, and have a great weekend!
Wedding Season
Wedding season is definitely in full swing, and partnered with my age, I’ve been going to a wedding almost every other weekend this month it seems. Recently my best friend asked me to help her find a dress for a wedding she will be in. She’s a very busy lady, and well, me – i’m not so busy lately. She was asked to wear purple. I hunted down several dresses and sent her links, but i thought it would be fun to finish the look out as a style guide as i think this particular dress works whether you are in the wedding or just attending the wedding. The dress itself is extremely affordable so i splurged a bit on accessories.

As a side note I love a messy side chignon hairdo, perfect for weddings! If you wanna try it, Martha Stewart has a great tutorial.

Temple
I recently discovered Temple Bags who happen to be based entirely out of LA.
I first stumbled across this iPad sleeve on the internets and wondered where I could find one of these, as I’m a total sucker for utilitarian, masculine pieces like this that only get better with age.

So given only the information on the small leather tag marking the back of the sleeve, I searched for Temple bags. And I’m happy to say I found them. The iPad sleeve that originally drew me to them, seems to no longer be available but they have a similar one, that I might like even more, its more of a leather envelope (also available in canvas).

I also like their story, and the re-use of old military fabrics.
Here’s a little about that:
check out the crazy warehouse of military scraps!
Dying to get my hands on one of these. But since I’m currently unemployed, it will probably have to wait. I know when John sees this hes gonna want one too, hopefully he will set his sights on one of the other lovely bags, so we don’t totally nerd out and get the same thing.
F#@K YEAH
This pocket square is amazing. I cant help but love it.
The whole class factor that comes with a pocket square is totally thrown on its head.
Nothing gentlemanly about this one.

Emily & Adam get married
About a week and a half ago our friends Adam and Emily got married. It was a very small and intimate affair (a bit of an elopement) and so they asked us to come and film it for those that couldn’t be there. The day was amazing and we were so honored to be a part of their intimate day. We are very excited and happy for them. See how sweet their love is:

Happy Birthday ‘merica
Hope everyone has a happy and sunny long weekend full of things like fireworks, bbq’s, friends, bonfires, beaches, parades and whatever else you crazy kids do to celebrate. Its supposed to be pretty warm here in Santa Monica, which I’m excited about, but otherwise we are planning on having a lo-key weekend. It’s our first fourth of July with Peeps and I’m not sure how she’ll take the fireworks so we’ll probably stay in and keep it casual. But i wouldn’t mind squeezing in some beach and bbq!
