Holidays ’round here

Here’s a look at what the holidays have been like around here for us so far. Can’t wait to add some family into the mix, oh so very soon.

this is the tree lot where we picked out our tree the day after Thanksgiving. It was probably 65 degrees out, but we were determined to get into the Christmas spirit. So we got some mochas and headed to the lot!

It being Peeps’ first Christmas and all, she got excited and decided to wear her Xmas sweater while decorating the tree…however I can’t say I appreciated her help when it came to wrapping presents (that’s her sitting inside the box I’m trying to wrap).

But she did understand that the holidays are for chillaxin. Here she is vegging out with her papa wearing the scarf I made her recently. I’ve been crafting up a storm lately and I’m dying to show you what I have been up to! Problem is, most of the crafts are gifts and I don’t want to spoil it…so they will have to wait.

Our version of a white Christmas.

Last night when we were out grabbing mochas (yeah we are kind of obsessed with them right now, tis the season) John pointed out this awesome Christmas tree made out of shopping carts behind Peets.

Pretty genius if you ask me!

And this awesome window display was at the craft store near the tree. Reminds me of Friends With You. Also, notice the cool snowflake guys hanging above..I almost missed them at first.

Winter Weather Fashions

It can be all to easy to get stuck in a fashion rut come winter. It’s cold and you really just wish you could wear your slippers and sweats all day, right? maybe, a little? Sometimes I need a little inspiration for my winter wardrobe and I thought you might too. Here are some looks I am loving.

Some of my favorite go-to winter items that are cozy and comfortable but still look pulled together are a stretchy skirt over leggings (if its super cold you can layer black tights underneath the leggings), legwarmers peeking out of boots or knit thigh highs layered over tights, and giant infinity scarves that you can bury your face in when its chilly!

Ease into your day

Do you guys know Frank Turner? We absolutely love him. You might recognize his voice because we have used his songs in several of our films (including our wedding song). I think I am drawn to him because like us he grew up in punk, metal and hardcore and later found a folk vibe. Anyway here’s a little Frank Turner to start off your day and I would recommend you pick up one of his catch albums, if not all of them.
