Desert Birthdays
I mentioned that John and his mom have a birthday that is one day apart, well he also shares a one day birthday difference with our buddy Emily. This year, us being in LA together we got to share the celebrations. We rented a top secret house in the desert for the weekend and had some much needed fun and giggles. Seriously you guys, I got an ab workout just from laughing all weekend. It was so much fun! Here are a few pictures from our trip and a silly little video.
Peanut took the roadtrip like a boss. She snuggled up and fell right asleep. I guess its easier to relax when there are people that act as buffers so your tiny ass doesn’t get thrown from left to right on the slippery back seat.
Once we arrived in town we stopped at Walmart for some necessities and some definitely not necessities. We don’t really come in contact with too many Walmarts and when we do its pretty easy to get “walmart brain”. We got all loopy and giddy and irrational and bought all kinds of crap. Lets just say that John left wearing a newly purchased Raiders jersey and carrying two Red Rider BBguns out the door along with way too many snacks.

Evidence of the non stop laughter at dinner. And our front yard.

Yay, happy birthday John and Em, I love you both very much and it was so much fun!
Blog Coma
Woah. Sorry guys I think I flat-lined there. Not sure what my deal is but I just haven’t been feeling very inspired to blog lately I guess. I kind of hate it when bloggers put up stupid content just to post something so I guess I just went the other way and didn’t post anything. Here’s a little photo recap of the last two weeks.
Things that happened:
I fought off gray weather with polka dots, pinks and yellows. I discovered the miracle of the sock bun. I know, I know, big news my friends, big news.

My mother in law came to visit to celebrate both her birthday and John’s (they are one day apart and always party together). The weather was poopy but we did a lot of eating and shopping (who doesn’t love eating and shopping?!).

She stayed at the adorable Viceroy hotel where her jacket matched her room.

I used some of my chalkboard paint to revamp some old mason jar lids.

While out shopping I got an awesome new embroidered LA tank, and am fully embracing Los Angeles.
And while out eating, I made a delicious new ice cream concoction at our fave creamery spot Sweet Rose.

Phew, okay now that you are back up to speed (as if a lot happened in my absence) let see if I cant keep this up. xo -G
Cookie Goddess
I’m slowly recovering from the plague over here. Starting to feel more like myself, albeit a slightly more frumpy version of myself. We recently finished another My Friends Are Talented piece, and I was so out of it, I didn’t get a chance to share it with you! If you are hungry, you may not want to watch, you have been warned.
The Week In Photos
I’m a touch late on the week in photos. I’ve been terribly sick since Friday. Didn’t leave the house all weekend. So everyone out there, take your vitamins and get your rest, believe me you don’t want none of this. blek. Now for a look at the week leading up to my illness.

Happy Friday
This video almost made me pee my pants. Perfect song choice.
Its a behind the scenes look at a shoot for this elaborate dog bedspotted on DogMilk. Featuring a dog named Bobby Gorgeous. yeah.
En Pointe!
My friend Emily shared this video and I love it for a a few reasons.
One: It reminds me that I need to look into finding a studio and dancing again now that I have a full time job & can afford to do so.
Two: I love the approach to this film. Every dancer has their own technique for preparing their pointe shoes and I love how they chose to neatly lay out all of the tools and materials before introducing each dancer. Super cool.

The Week in Photos

Ease into your day: Stephanie Harwood
This weeks video/song has a little bit of back story. I went to high school with Stephanie. I know she was a singer then and she had a lot of talent but I haven’t seen her or talked to her in over 10 years, not even on facebook. Luckily, a mutual high school facebook friend shared this video of her performing Adele’s “Someone Like You” and I’m so glad she did. Watching it gave me chills and even though I haven’t seen her or spoken to her in ages, it filled me with pride. It’s pretty amazing the paths that life takes people on and it’s so cool to see people harness their talents and shine. Awesome job Stephanie! I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do.
