Outfit of the Day

Dressing the Bump: 18 weeks 1 day.

Yesterday we had the pleasure of attending a wedding of friends. It might be the only wedding we can remember where we weren’t either working the wedding or IN the wedding (or both!), and it was a really fun date night. Dressing the bump for a special occasion seemed like a fun challenge and I was really happy with the way it worked out and I felt great.

Remember the adorable Leighann & Caitlyn who got married at the ever impressive Marvimon House? Well, Ruffled has chosen to share it with the world. We had a pleasure working with their photographers The Gemmers, as they are the sweetest couple ever! And we are thrilled and honored that Ruffled chose to share our film. Please be sure to check out all the photos and read about what the couple had to say about their day here.

Also, you should check out The Gemmers site for more fun photos.

Congrats again girls!

and if you didn’t know that we make wedding films, check out our site What We Do Films

and PPS, you may have noticed that the site looks a little different. We are in the process of trying to do a little update. It’s still a work in progress but hopefully it will be an improvement.

Leighann & Caitlyn

We recently finished up a wedding films at What We Do Films and I wanted to share it with you all.
When these two contacted us, sadly their first question was “do you do same sex weddings?”. Our response was….”Well, duh!” But we were pretty depressed to hear that some other vendors had turned them down. These two are totally awesome. Like, so awesome that we are friends now. Their wedding, no doubt, was also totally awesome. And it was at the amazing Marvimon here in Los Angeles. It was an honor and a pleasure to be a part of their special day and we just had to share:

New Wedding Work: What We Do Films

I’m pretty excited about two wedding films we just finished up. One of them was in Monterey and the other in Carmel Valley just a few weeks apart, but the weather was drastically different.

The Carmel Valley Holman Ranch setting was beautiful. The vineyards paired with some beautiful California sunshine. Man oh man do I love the golden hour. It just doesn’t get any better. This couple actually outdid John and I on the amount of years they had been together before getting married (13!) and you could definitely feel the love and the strong connection they shared, not only with each other but with one anothers family as well.

.

The Monterey wedding also had an amazing setting. With the ocean as the backdrop. And while most brides dread the rain, it was actually really beautiful and added a fun element to the film. Plus their wedding planner was prepared with adorable clear umbrellas. And it really only sprinkled through the ceremony and then was beautiful the rest of the day/night. We also had the honor of filming the brides brothers wedding a few years ago so it was fun to see some of the same faces again.

Day before the wedding shoot

So, I just came across a post that I apparently drafted last year sometime after the wedding and never posted. At the time we got our wedding photos I didn’t post too many of them on my own blog because they were being featured on other blogs. But since our anniversary was yesterday, why not go ahead and post this, late as it may be…and maybe I will put together a post with photos from the wedding as well that you may have not seen.

I’ll just leave the following text as I wrote it last year:

Now you have seen a few of our wedding photos, I wanted to also share some of the cute shots we took the day before the wedding. I guess they are sort of like an engagement shoot of sorts. We got to go to a few different locations, change into a few different outfits and get silly. I have to say, that doing the photo shoot the day before the wedding was pretty fun. It was nice to break away from the chaos for a few hours and just focus on us. Although I can’t lie, I got a little spazzed when i showed up late to my nail appt. having just romped in the beach and only had a few minutes to change and re-primp before our rehearsal dinner, but it all worked out well (and it was worth it cuz the ocean shots were some of the most fun.)

While it may be out of order, I’m gonna start with my favorite, I’m kind of obsessed with this picture. It’s perfect.
